Reversal of Fortune
Barbet Schroeder · 1990 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary
A Rhode Island heiress lies in an irreversible coma while her Danish-born husband, convicted of trying to kill her with insulin, hires a Harvard law professor to run the appeal out of a house full of student researchers. The woman in the coma narrates what she cannot be called to testify to. Schroeder made a procedural out of a tabloid case and won Irons an Academy Award for playing an unreadable man.
