Fault Lines
Nancy Huston · 2006 CE · Novel · French · Contemporary
Four six-year-old children, in four generations of one family, narrate in turn, moving backward from California in 2004 through Israel and New York to Germany in 1944. Each child's small cruelty traces to the inheritance of the one before. Huston, Canadian-born, wrote it in French and then translated it herself; it won the Prix Femina.
