The Corrections

Jonathan Franzen · 2001 CE · Novel · Modern / American · Contemporary

Enid Lambert, in the Midwestern town of St Jude, wants one last family Christmas while her husband Alfred's Parkinson's and dementia advance. Their three adult children, scattered between Philadelphia, New York and Lithuania, are each in their own disrepair. A comic and bleak domestic novel of the late-1990s boom, it won the 2001 National Book Award and became a defining novel of its decade.
