Dead Poets Society
A new English master at a Vermont boarding school in 1959 has his pupils tear the preface out of their textbooks and stand on his desk to see the room differently, and they revive the secret reading club he belonged to as a boy there. One of them defies his father to act in a local production. Weir's picture made Whitman a schoolboy password and still starts arguments about what inspirational teaching costs.
