Giant

George Stevens · 1956 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

A Maryland woman marries a Texas cattleman on two days' acquaintance and is brought home to half a million acres, a hostile sister-in-law, and Mexican ranch hands housed in a settlement she is told not to visit. A hand left a small parcel in a will strikes oil on it and spends twenty-five years getting even. Stevens shot in Marfa across two summers, and James Dean was killed days after finishing his part.
