Inter Ice Age 4

Kōbō Abe · 1959 CE · Novel · Japanese · Contemporary

A computer engineer forbidden to point his forecasting machine at politics picks a man at random in a coffee shop and sets the programme to predict that one ordinary life. The subject is dead within days and the corpse comes back to the engineer's own laboratory, while beneath the city a state project breeds aquatic humans against a flood nobody has announced. Generally taken as the first full-length Japanese science fiction.
