Suspect on the Night Train
Yoko Tawada · 2002 CE · Novel · Japanese · Contemporary
A dancer travels by night train to thirteen different destinations, and each journey is told as a chapter of its own. The traveller falls under a suspicion that is never specified, and language, identity and direction slip with each change of train. Tawada, who also writes in German, won the Tanizaki Prize for this Japanese-language book.
