The King's Speech
A stammering royal duke, humiliated at a stadium microphone, submits to an unlicensed Australian speech therapist who insists on first names and treats him as a patient rather than a prince. His brother's abdication then puts him on the throne with a war declaration to read aloud. Hooper's account of that friendship took Best Picture and Colin Firth the acting award.
