The Wrestler
Twenty years after selling out arenas, a New Jersey wrestler works weekend shows in school gyms and a supermarket deli counter on weekdays, sleeping in his van when the rent is short. A hardcore match with staple guns and barbed wire puts him in surgery, and he tries to make something of a stripper's company and a daughter who stopped taking his calls. Aronofsky shot handheld behind Rourke's shoulder, and the part remade the actor.
