Through Black Spruce

Joseph Boyden · 2008 CE · Novel · Modern / American · Contemporary

Will Bird, a Cree bush pilot and trapper in northern Ontario, lies in a coma while his niece Annie, a trapper like him, tells him what happened when she went south in search of her missing sister Suzanne. His own account moves between the bush and the city, where the violence of the streets reaches the family. It won the Giller Prize.
