Thus Spoke Hwang Man-geun
A mock-biography assembles the sayings and doings of Hwang Man-geun, a village fool, as remembered by those around him. His disappearance during a farmers' protest turns the comic portrait into a commentary on rural Korea's neglect. The title gives the collection its name and won the Dong-in Literary Award in 2002.
