Blazing Saddles

Mel Brooks · 1974 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

A state attorney general appoints a Black railroad worker as sheriff of a frontier town standing in the way of a rail line, calculating that the townspeople will run him off and sell cheap. The new sheriff finds an alcoholic gunfighter sleeping it off in his own jail and starts working the con back. Brooks turned the slurs of the genre against itself, with Richard Pryor on the writing team.
