Almost Famous

Cameron Crowe · 2000 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

A fifteen-year-old with a byline he got by lying about his age is sent out with a rising band in 1973, phoning his mother from hotels and taking notes on a guitarist who charms him and a girl who refuses the word groupie. The magazine wants a cover story; the band wants a friend. Crowe drew it from his own teenage assignments for Rolling Stone, and won the original screenplay Oscar.
