Bride of Frankenstein
A prologue has Mary Shelley tell Byron and her husband that the story did not stop at the burning mill, and the creature climbs from the ruins to find a blind hermit's cottage, a violin and a word for friend. A former teacher of Frankenstein's, who keeps homunculi in bottles, wants a mate built. Whale's sequel is funnier and crueller than the original, and its laboratory sequence set the idiom for screen resurrection.
