Caesar Must Die

Paolo and Vittorio Taviani · 2012 CE · Film · Italian · Contemporary

Inmates of the high-security wing at Rebibbia prison in Rome, several of them serving life for Camorra and mafia crimes, audition for and rehearse a production of Julius Caesar in their cells and corridors, in the dialects they grew up speaking. The conspiracy against Caesar is played by men who know what a betrayal costs. Shot in black and white apart from the performance itself.
