Fjord
A Romanian-Norwegian couple settle in the wife's remote hometown between the mountains and the water, and a report to the child-welfare service turns their neighbours' friendliness into surveillance and their parenting into a case file. Mungiu, drawing on the Bodnariu affair, turns his moralist's eye on a Scandinavian ideal of tolerance and finds it as capable of exclusion as anywhere he has filmed. It took the 2026 Palme d'Or, his second.
