A Passage to India

David Lean · 1984 CE · Film · English · Contemporary

A young Englishwoman and her fiancé's mother reach Chandrapore wanting to see the real India, and an eager Muslim doctor gets up an expedition to the Marabar caves that ends in an accusation and an arrest. The hearing that follows splits the station along the only line that counts there. Lean's last work, made fourteen years after the mauling of Ryan's Daughter drove him off the screen.
