Oleanna

David Mamet · 1992 CE · Play · Modern / American · Contemporary

A student comes to a professor's office because she cannot follow his book and is failing his course, and he offers her a private arrangement that will fix the grade. She returns with a complaint to the tenure committee that quotes his own sentences back at him. Written straight after the Hill and Thomas hearings and first staged in Cambridge, where audiences argued in the aisles.
