The commandant of Auschwitz and his wife raise five children in a house against the camp wall, with a greenhouse, a pool and a garden she has planted herself, and her chief worry is a transfer that would take them away from it. Nothing on the other side of the wall is shown; it is all sound. Loosely from Martin Amis's novel, which this archive does not hold though six other Amis books are here.
