Half of a Yellow Sun
A village boy is brought to Nsukka to keep house for a radical university lecturer whose lover has left Lagos society to live with him, while her twin sister takes up with an English writer in Port Harcourt. Biafra declares itself, the blockade closes, and the household is moved from town to town with less each time. Adichie wrote it out of her parents' accounts of the war, and it is now the most taught Nigerian novel since the one that formed her.
