Home Alone

Chris Columbus · 1990 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

An eight-year-old sent up to the attic after a row at supper wakes to an empty house in a Chicago suburb: the family have overslept and flown to Paris without counting heads. He eats what he likes and does his own shopping until he works out that two men have been casing the street, and starts wiring the staircase and the doors. Columbus and Hughes made the highest-grossing comedy of its time from a child's revenge fantasy.
