Hunt for the Wilderpeople

Taika Waititi · 2016 CE · Film · New Zealand · Contemporary

A city foster kid with a thick police file is placed on a farm at the edge of the bush, with a woman glad to have him and a monosyllabic husband who wants nothing to do with him. When child welfare comes to take him back the two of them go bush, and a national manhunt builds around a story neither has told. Taika Waititi adapts Barry Crump's novel Wild Pork and Watercress, which this archive does not hold; it opened at Sundance and became the highest-grossing New Zealand production of its day.
