Lost in Translation

Sofia Coppola · 2003 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

An American screen actor spends a week in Tokyo shooting whisky commercials he does not understand and taking calls from a wife arranging carpet samples. In the same hotel a philosophy graduate waits out her photographer husband's assignments, and the two start keeping each other company through jet lag, karaoke and afternoons neither will describe afterwards. Coppola made an art-house hit out of almost nothing happening.
