Mutiny on the Bounty

Frank Lloyd · 1935 CE · Film · Modern / American · Modernist

A breadfruit expedition to Tahiti sails under a captain who flogs for small offences and waters the cargo of seedlings before the crew, and his lieutenant spends the outward voyage counting the cost of saying nothing. After months ashore, the order to sail for the West Indies arrives. Shot partly at sea off Catalina, it won best picture and put three men in the lead-actor category, which is why supporting categories exist.
