Red April

Santiago Roncagliolo · 2006 CE · Novel · Latin American · Contemporary

A deputy prosecutor in Ayacucho investigates a burned body during Holy Week of 2000, in a city where the memory of the Shining Path and of army reprisals has never been settled. His inquiry brings him up against the men who prefer it closed. It won the Alfaguara Prize and, in English, the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize.
