Ricardo Piglia · 2010 CE · Novel · Latin American · Contemporary

A murder in a small town on the Argentine pampas in the 1970s draws in Commissioner Croce, who finds a closed community whose families and money turn against the investigation. Piglia, one of Argentina's leading intellectual writers, plays the crime novel against a country's years of repression. It won the Premio de la Critica in 2010 and the Premio Rómulo Gallegos in 2011.
