Stars of the New Curfew

Ben Okri · 1988 CE · Short Story · Nigerian · Contemporary

A salesman pushing a patent medicine that does not work is on the bus when the driver, dosed with it, takes the road at the wrong angle, and he goes home afterwards to a town where two rich men are conducting their feud by public spectacle. The rest keep to the same country of power cuts, curfews, riots, and dreams that will not stay inside the night. Written in London while its author had no fixed address, and the last thing he published before the novel that made his name.
