The Bhagavad Gita
On the eve of the battle at Kurukshetra, the archer Arjuna sees cousins and teachers in the army opposite and puts down his bow. His charioteer Krishna answers him over eighteen chapters, on duty, the self that is not killed, and the paths of knowledge, works and devotion. A warrior frozen between armies is taught action without attachment; God as charioteer.
