The Graduate
Mike Nichols · 1967 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary
A track star home from college with no idea what to do next drifts around his parents' Los Angeles pool and is seduced by the wife of his father's business partner. The affair runs through hotel afternoons until his parents start pushing him toward the woman's daughter, back from Berkeley. Nichols kept the Simon and Garfunkel records laid in as a temporary track, and its ambivalence became the emblem of New Hollywood.
