The Player

A studio executive who hears thirty pitches a week starts receiving threatening postcards from a writer he brushed off, settles on the man he thinks is sending them and arranges to meet him outside a cinema in Pasadena. Afterwards he must keep taking meetings, court the writer's girlfriend and manage a detective who keeps calling. Altman opened with an eight-minute unbroken take about long takes.
