Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Robert Zemeckis · 1988 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary
A drink-sodden private detective in 1947 Los Angeles takes a job photographing the wife of a cartoon star, then finds himself defending the star over the murder of Toontown's owner. The trail runs from the back lots to Toontown, where physical law does not hold and a judge with a bath of solvent is waiting. Zemeckis matched hand-drawn characters to live plates so precisely that nobody equalled the technique for years.
