The Revenant

Alejandro G. Iñárritu · 2015 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

A fur trapper mauled by a grizzly on the 1823 Missouri is left in a shallow grave by the men paid to bury him, one of whom kills his son in front of him. Dragging a broken body across frozen river country, he lives on marrow, carrion and the help of a Pawnee traveller. Iñárritu shot on location in natural light, and finally won Leonardo DiCaprio an Oscar.
