The Third Man

A broke writer of pulp westerns arrives in four-power Vienna on a job offer from an old school friend, and is told at the door that the friend was run over three days earlier. Witnesses disagree about how many men carried the body away, and the military police want to talk about penicillin sold watered down to hospitals. Reed shot in the bombed city itself and scored it on a zither played by Anton Karas.
