The Departed

Two graduates of the same state police academy end up on opposite sides of one case: one has been an Irish boss's protégé since boyhood and is fed into the special investigations unit, the other goes into the crew with a fabricated record and a file only two officers may see. Each learns there is an informant on his own side and starts hunting the other. Scorsese's remake of a Hong Kong thriller won him the directing Oscar.
