After Hours
A word processor operator bored in his uptown apartment meets a woman in a coffee shop, telephones her that night and takes a cab downtown to a SoHo loft, losing his last twenty dollars out of the window on the way. The sculptor she lodges with, a bartender, a mob of vigilantes and a woman with a bouffant each keep him from the subway home. Scorsese made it fast and cheap after a larger production collapsed on him.
