Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives
A man dying of kidney failure is tended on his farm in the northeast by his sister-in-law, and at dinner on the terrace his wife, nineteen years dead, sits down at the table, followed by the son who vanished into the forest and has come back covered in fur with red eyes. Nobody screams; a place is set. The film then walks off into a cave and a catfish and a photograph of soldiers, on the understanding that a life is not the only thing a person remembers.
