Bonnie and Clyde

Arthur Penn · 1967 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

A West Texas waitress catches a man trying to steal her mother's car, asks to come along, and the two work their way up from grocery stores to banks with a mechanic and a brother and his wife riding behind. Newspapers print the poems and photographs they send in, and a ranger they humiliate starts following. Its shifts from comedy to slow-motion gunfire split reviewers and are generally taken as the start of New Hollywood.
