Chariots of Fire
Two British runners drive toward the 1924 Paris Olympics — a Jewish Cambridge student sprinting against the prejudice of the establishment, and a devout Scot who refuses to race on the Sabbath. Colin Welland's screenplay from the historical record took Best Picture, and the Vangelis-scored beach run became one of cinema's most quoted openings.
