A dark grey cat wakes to water rising through the forest and climbs aboard a drifting sailboat already carrying a capybara, then a lemur, a labrador and an injured secretarybird who share nothing but the deck. Gints Zilbalodis built it in Blender with a small Latvian crew, without a word of dialogue and without giving the animals human speech. It won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, the first Latvian production to take an Oscar in any category.
