Comet in Moominland
The sea has gone grey and the shore is covered in small heaps of sand nobody made, so a young troll and his friend set out for the observatory in the Lonely Mountains to ask the professors what is on its way. They pick up a wanderer with a mouth organ and a girl with a gold ankle ring, and cross a valley of lizards and a seabed the heat has drained dry. The date is chalked on a blackboard, and the walk home has to be measured against it.
