Invasion of the Body Snatchers

Don Siegel · 1956 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

A small-town California doctor comes back from a conference to a waiting room of patients insisting their relatives are impostors: same face, same memories, nothing behind the eyes. He finds unfinished bodies in a greenhouse and works out that the town is being replaced while it sleeps. Shot fast and cheap, it became the Cold War's most argued-over parable, read as anti-communist and anti-conformist with equal conviction.
