Mary Poppins

Robert Stevenson · 1964 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

A nanny descends on an Edwardian London house holding an umbrella, unpacks a hatstand from a carpet bag, and takes two neglected children into chalk pavement pictures and a tea party on the ceiling while their banker father works and their mother marches for the vote. The chimney sweep who knows her is the only adult taking any of it seriously. Its live action and animation won five Oscars in Walt Disney's lifetime.
