Night of the Living Dead

George A. Romero · 1968 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

A brother and sister visiting a Pennsylvania cemetery are attacked by a shuffling man, and the survivor takes shelter in a farmhouse with a stranger who boards the windows as more of them gather outside. A cellar full of people who will not come up, a radio and then a television carry news of the recently dead walking. Shot for a hundred thousand dollars in newsreel-flat monochrome, it invented the modern zombie.
