Warren Beatty · 1981 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

John Reed, a radical journalist out of Portland, and Louise Bryant, a dentist's wife who leaves to write, argue their way through Greenwich Village, an open marriage and the American labour left before reaching Petrograd in 1917. The party they help found at home splits into two factions within a year. Beatty cut the testimony of surviving witnesses through the drama and got a major studio to pay for a communist epic in 1981.
