Shrek
Andrew Adamson, Vicky Jenson · 2001 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary
An ogre's swamp fills up with exiled fairy-tale characters, evicted by a small lord who wants a tidy kingdom and a princess who will make him a king. To buy back his solitude the ogre agrees to fetch her from a tower guarded by a dragon, with a talking donkey attached to him the whole way. DreamWorks built a franchise on sending up the Disney fairy tale and took the first animated feature Oscar with it.
