The Nutty Professor

Jerry Lewis · 1963 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

A buck-toothed, short-sighted chemistry professor who keeps blowing up his laboratory mixes a formula to impress a student and steps out of a closet as Buddy Love, a lounge singer with perfect teeth and contempt for everybody. The potion wears off at intervals, usually on stage at the campus club. Lewis devised a video monitoring rig to direct himself, and its portrait of the entertainer still divides critics.
