The Breakfast Club
John Hughes · 1985 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary
Five students report to a suburban Illinois high school library on a Saturday for detention, ordered to write an essay on who each of them thinks he is: an athlete, a princess, a brain, a basket case and a criminal. The assistant principal patrols, the criminal picks at everyone in reach, and by the afternoon the essay has turned into confession. Hughes gave the teenage picture the unity of a chamber play.
