The Exorcist

William Friedkin · 1973 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

An actress working in Georgetown finds her twelve-year-old daughter answering to another voice, and submits her to a run of neurological tests before the doctors suggest a priest. The Jesuit she reaches is losing his own faith and is only half persuaded by what he records on tape. Queues ran around blocks and ambulances were called to cinemas; it was the first horror picture nominated for Best Picture.
