Eraserhead
David Lynch · 1977 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary
Henry Spencer keeps a room in an industrial district of grinding noise and permanent night, and is summoned to dinner with the family of a woman he has been seeing. There is a baby, or something like one, that will not stop crying, and a woman with swollen cheeks who sings inside the radiator. Lynch built it over five years of weekends, and its sound design is still the most exact rendering of dread in American cinema.
