Mulholland Drive
David Lynch · 2001 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary
A woman walks away from a crash on a canyon road above Los Angeles with no idea who she is, and hides in an apartment lent to a bright newcomer just arrived to become a star. The two set about tracing her name while a young director is leaned on over casting by men who will not say why. Assembled out of a rejected television pilot, it placed eighth in the 2022 Sight and Sound critics' poll, the highest standing of any work of its century.
